There are certainly advantages to telecommuting for workers and employers, but it also presents challenges.  <\/p>\n<p>How do you find someone who can work remotely effectively? <strong>The key is to know if you have the right skills for telecommuting<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>8 <em>soft skills<\/em> needed for remote work<\/h2>\n<p>Internet connection and digital tools are basic pieces of equipment for remote work. But they alone are not enough to do an effective job.<strong> Soft skills<\/strong> play an essential role. Some of the most valued for remote work are:   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Autonomy<\/strong>. A teleworker must be able to move forward without constant supervision, organize tasks and solve problems independently. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Time management.<\/strong>  Knowing how to manage, prioritize and organize tasks to meet objectives and deadlines is essential.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clear and proactive communication.<\/strong>  Even if your colleagues are far away, it is essential to maintain fluid communication through the company&#8217;s communication channels in order to coordinate, avoid lack of information or anticipate possible misunderstandings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adaptability<\/strong>. Knowing how to adjust without losing focus is a great advantage. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Self-discipline<\/strong>. When working without direct supervision, it is essential that the person is able to comply with the established organization and avoid distractions. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Active listening<\/strong>. Reading well what others are saying, paying real attention in online meetings and detecting unspoken needs facilitates better collaboration. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Problem solving<\/strong>.
